About Us

Our Philosophy

Birth is an awesome, natural, intense, and sacred process which is also a Life Event. The midwives at CFBR offer preparation and participation with families to help create a natural and memorable Birth Center or Homebirth experience.

We believe there is a very big difference between giving birth to a baby and being delivered of a baby. We strive to awaken each woman's power from within through knowledge, preparation, and helping women find their strengths and to understand their possibilities.

Coastal Family Birth Retreat is licensed by the state of NH, and is an approved facility as outlined in SB 175. The State of NH has recently passed SB175 (April, 2006), which requires insurance companies to pay for births that occur in approved facilities. Coastal Family Birth Retreat is such a facility.
